40 RIT goes to Connellsville.
08-05-09, Box 8-8, 04:15, RIT Team Assists Connellsville Just after 0400 40 RIT was requested to assist connellsville with a commercial structure fire on West Peach Street. Rescue 40 responded with six and arrived onscene with a one story brick building with heavy smoke and fire showing. We staged on the A-D corner, set up lighting and broke in to teams of two with guys on the A-D, C-D and on side A with Scottdale FD's RIT Team. 40 RIT made several enlarged openings on the C and D sides of the building. We were cleared by 8 Command around 08:00. UNITS ON SCENE: Uniontown Fire Department

2 Vacant Houses burn on Nutt Ave
08-02-09, Box 48, 05:00, Residential Structure Fire At 0500 Uniontown and South Union Firefighters were dispatched to the area of Veech St. for a report of a "small fire on the roof". As Capt. Lovey's crew approached the area he saw the fire was on Nutt Ave and went on scene with two houses well involved with exposures on either side. An agressive defensive attack was started and the fire was kept the the original fire buildings. It took over two hours to bring the fire under control with the last units clearing the scene around 1000. South Union was on stand-by in Central Station and handled an automatic fire alarm at a downtown senior citizen high rise. Hopwood assisted with thier manpower while Farmington and Connellsvile Township RIT teams stood-by onscene during the incident. No injuries were reported. UNITS ON SCENE: Uniontown Fire Department
